I need to buy winter tires for my '92 Jeep Cherokee, and I've always gone with studded tires here in Alaska. But someone suggested going with Bridgestone's Blizzaks, and I just wonder if anyone can tell me whether they're worth the extra money. I'm in Fairbanks, which gets pretty icy and snowy.

just cvame from my tire dealer who informed me that those blizzack tires are great for the first year but quickly lose the siping that makes the tires effective after that- he should be some tires that he had wher i could scutally see the siping gone from the tires- he also said go with studs or snows if you are looking for tires to last more than1/2 seasons
