the Dunlop SP 5000 Symmetrical tires did get the highest rating amongst ultra high performance all season tires. i have not heard any complaints from anyone about them. did you check them out at tirerack.com?

I had the SP4000's which were discontinued in favor of the 5000. They were very good in the wet and dry and adequate in the snow. My only reservation was tire life - only about 20k before I had to ditch them. I've heard good things about the SP5000's though.

I am currently running a set of 16" SP5000, although not the assymetrical tread design (they come in two versions depending on size). They are with out a doubt the best ultra high performance "all season" tires I have had in recent times. Previously I was running D60A2's, RE910's & SP4000. (I got 40K on the SP4000's) It is one of the most "well rounded" (no pun intended) UHP tire on the market today. Ride quality, low noise levels, handling capabilty and wet traction are all excellent. Unfortunately I have not had the expirience to drive them in anything but very light snow conditions so I can not attest first hand to their true snow traction capabilities. based on wear to date, I have approx 18K miles, they look to be capable of 40K plus. (tread depth remaining is 6-7/32, rotated once)
Hope it helps.
