Sumitomo Srixon4 Tires -Any Comments on noise & treadwear?I am considering them as three season tires for a Volvo 760 Turbo, provided they offer a reasonably quiet ride and offer long treadwear. Their price is right but I don't know much about these tires. IP: Logged |

I had owned the Sumitomo HTR4's on a Mitsubishi Eclipse and found them to be very quiet and long lasting. All of my previous tires only lasted around 20K miles but these were past that and had at least another 10K to go. If the HTR4 is any indication then the SIRXON4 is probably a good tire as well. I did read somewhere that Dunlop owns Sumitomo and that the Sumitomo tire is basically a wholesale version of the Dunlop tire. You might inquire at tirerack.com, that is where I had bought my Sumitomo tires.IP: Logged |

Sumitomo used to own Dunlop. Dunlop now has a partnership with GoodYear called "GoodYear/Dunlop Tires N.A.".I do recommend Dunlop's! IP: Logged |

DurangoGirl Following the previous thread, you are not only adamant about Dunlop's being a good tire & recomending them, you also are aware of the business side of things. Sumitomo's ownership change and specificaly the new partnerships name, except you forgot the Limited suffix! So, do you work in West Amherst, Tonawanda or Huntsville ???I also recommend Dunlop's; in the right application! IP: Logged |
