I need to replace my H rated Michelin MXV from Costco (got about 45K out of them)and am looking at the Michelin X-One , BFG T/A TR, Yokohama S306 (which I was told are really Avid H4s made by Yoko for America's Tire), Pirelli 400, or other suggestions anyone may have. My requirements in order of importance: 1) Long Lasting Treadwear (I drive 400 miles per week) 2)quiet / reduced noice 3) handling (current tires seem to hydroplane alot in wet weather). I read that I should not downgrade my speedrating below H but some of the tires I'm looking at are T rated. Should I only be looking at H rated or higher tires (i.e. V). Any thoughts anyone has would be greatly appreciated Steve IP: Logged |

I have never driven on them, but I believe that the X-One will last longer than any of the tires you mentioned. The MXV's I have had the unfortunate experience of having them come on vehicles I have purchased new, and the are absolutely horrible in the rain. This experience did not carry over to the Michelin XGT H4's I am soon to be replacing now.IP: Logged |

Thanks Mike, I agree with your assessment and agree with your comments on the lack of traction in the rain for the MXV. All the reviews I have seen on the X-One is consistent in terms longevity and overall performance (including the rain). Thanks for your input. IP: Logged |

I use P185/70/R14's on my '92 Accord and have 2 different sets all wearing normal...the newer sets replaced the XGTH4 or XGT4..one of those that was rated 65kmi. I believe the X-Ones are rated 80k mi.IP: Logged |
