Robert TThis tire (Uniroyal Aquagrip) seems to me to have an unusual tread pattern that borders on being a directional pattern. The manufacturer says no but I have not found any other patter comparable that was not directional.
CapriRacerLooking at the tread pattern of the AquaGrip does give one the sensation that it is directional - except for the center grooves that are going the opposite direction.

In my opinion, this then cancels whatever directionality this design might have. Rearrange the design a little and it would be directional, but not the way they have it.

Hope this helps.

Sunglasses_at_niteYeah Robert T you are correct. I noticed the same thing when I bought a set for my Ford . I asked the dealer about it but he said " oh no just looks that way". Well I know they don't call it a directional tread but it most definitly is one. If you hold two tires together side by side the tread it easy to see that it isn't any kind of illusion its directional. Not a bad tire but they wore out quickly.
