What is a good buy and safe for me and my passengers.
What brand, codes and other hidden features to know when purchasing tires?

I would also like tires to last at least twenty thousand miles. Being an uninformed buyer has led me to be the victim of high pricing and less tire for the money.

Thank you

I think you will love the Goodyear Aquatred 3 for $61 each at tirerack.com Have them drop ship tires to a tire store close to your house. Shipping, Handling then Mounting and Balancing from the tire store will run usually about $30 more per tire. Total cost for 4 new tires should run you about $365.

Tires treadwear ratings are important to some extent. Goodyear posts a treadwear of 640 on the Aquatred 3. You will have to get a size a little different than you have now. Aquatred 3 comes in 195/70R14. This will not be noticeable to you the driver or to your car. These tires will last you at least 70,000miles. They perform very well in our rainstorms we get down here. Read some information at tirerack.com about tire decisions for a better understanding of what to look for. I have saved a minimum of $100 each time I order from tirerack.com instead of buying them at a local tire store except with some deals you may find at Costco or Sam's Club. I just don't like the fact that they have a smaller selection(Sam's or Costco) and thus not have the exact tire I am looking for. They sell a Michelin X-Metric which is a very nice tire too, but I think it will still cost you a bit more than mail ordering the Goodyears I mentioned. And, no I do not work for tirerack.com just been a satisfied customer for over 5 sets of tires now. I am a middle school teacher in Lee County(Ft. Myers). Hope this helped you out. Good luck.
