GSownerAny recommendations for tires for a '93 GS 300? Stock size is 215/60/16. We have been very unhappy with the treadwear we have had with Goodyear GA's on our '93 GS 300 (2 sets over the 42,000 miles we have owned the car). Driving style is "average" with a combination city/highway. Looking for low noise but an acceptable balance between ride and handling. We encounter some rain but no snow when driving. We are also interested in possibly upgrading to a lower profile tire, but do not want to replace our wheels or adversely impact the speedometer/ABS.

Considering Dunlop SP Sport 5000, Pirelli P6000 Sport Veloce, Yokohama AVS db's. Are any of these tires better than the others for our needs? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

donfromnaplesMichelin Pilot XGT H4 are good tires, the Dunlops you mentioned the SP Sport 5000 are very good tires, also the Dunlop SP Sport A2 is a decent tire comparable to the Michelin H4, and going to a 225/55R16 I like the Bridgestone RE 730. I do not like the Pirelli 6000 compared to the other tires mentioned.
GSownerThanks for the reply. Tirerack said that of the 3 tires I mentioned, the Pirelli would give the longest life and smoothest ride and that the Dunlop would give the most performance on dry roads. Any thoughts? It sounds like some people on this board do not like the Pirellis -- any reason?

Tirerack also said the only size for the GS 300 the recommend (other than stock) is a 235/55/16. Does anyone have experience with that size tire and if so, what do you recommend (the three tires I mentioned above do not come in that size)? Is it worth alternate sizing, or is it more trouble than it is worth if I am not going to "plus size"?

Thanks again.
