ScottI have to replace the tires on a 3000GT I recently purchased and was considering two all season performance tires - Yokohama Avid V4 vs the Dunlop Sport 5000. While the Yoko is a little cheaper and has a better wear life, the Dunlop is rated (Tirerack) much better in the snow.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with either or both of these tires. I would appreciate any comments.

binarystaticI don't have any experiences with the Yokahama tires, but I have had the Dunlop SP 5000's on my 96 Probe GT for 14 months now in Central Illinois (harsh winters and extreme seasons). I love them, much better in rain and snow than the stock Goodyear VR50's were and no noticable difference on dry pavement. Plus the Dunlop's are really good looking tires.
WolfI have a set of the Avid V4 on my Supercharged Regal and I really like them. I have used them in light snow, rain and light ice conditions and they performed much better than the stock Goodyears. I haven't had any problems with them anywhere I have been. I have about 21,000 miles on them and I think I'll get about 45K on them. The only slight issue I have with them is they will squeal a little under very hard cornering.
