Can anyone please tell me what the recommended inflation pressure is? please indicate if it's when the tire is cold or warm. thanks
dboy I just bought a new set of Nitto NT 450s (215/40 16R) donfromnaples I am familiar with the tire, but not your car. This means that you can see recommended inflation on the door seam sticker. This is usually what all go by. dboy The problem with my car is that I bought it second hand with a new paint job, and there is no sticker on the door. My car is a 1992 NX Coupe 1600. I understand the original specs for the tires are like 175/65 or something so im not sure if the original specs of nissan will apply in this case.

David According to specs for your specific vehicle it came with P175/70SR13 with recomended inflation pressure of 32F & 29R. Don is correct that you should use the original inflation pressure as a guide even when plus sizing, especialy if there is a bias F to R as in the case with your vehicle. You can adjust from there. Rule of thumb is to do it in two psi increments (maintaining the bias in the begining) up or down to achieve the desired ride & wear characteristics or to maximize the performance capabilities of the new rubber. You must however keep in mind that when adjusting down you are also reducing load capacity. The OE 175/70R13 had a max load capacity of 1036(@35psi) p metric & 1047(@36psi) non P-metric.
Specs indicate your vehicle came with a P metric, at the OE recomended inflation your load capacity was 992F & 948R. The 215/40R16 needs 32psi for 948 & 34psi for 995 load carrying capacity.
Hope it helps.
