RickI had NTB replace the worn out Wrangler ATS tires on my 98 Durnago. 31x10.5 15s

The ride is much quieter with the newer tires, but I notice that the truck accelerates slower and just feels like more like a truck than before the MICHELIN XC LT4 tires.

I weighed the new tire against the never used spare wrangler ats and found that the MICHELIN tire weighs 5lbs more, adding 20lbs of power robbing rotating weight to my drive train.

Is there any place to find tire weights, before you buy? I really didn't like the noise of the wranglers, but will not keep these Michelin tank tires.

DaveBAre they the same size tire? If so, I don't think 20lbs of added unsprung weight is going to have that dramatic an effect. Even rolling resistance should not be that perceptable. If anything The Michelin would probably have less. Don't go by the weight of the tire itself. There are some pretty cruddy truck tires that are very light.
RickI finally got sick of the sluggish starts and city milage with the heavy 3 ply steel belt Michelins. I ordered some Wrangler HTs to replace them(only 2 ply like the orignal RTS tires). Hopefully the truck will respond with quickier pickup under light throttle, better city milage, and lighter streeing. (like it was)

No doubt, the Michelins would last longer, are stronger and very quiet, but just too sluggish feeling for me. JMHO
