hiwayman17I think I have narrowed my tire list down to 4. They are Pirelli P400, Pirelli P3000, Yokohama Aegis LS4 and the Toyo 800 Ultra.

The P400 was rated highest overall in the most recent issue of Consumer Reports. It is also highly rated by the Tire Rack. However, according to CR its snow traction is just average. I can't find any test info about the P3000, but it has a higher treadwear rating and seems similar otherwise to the P400. The Aegis was rated almost as good as the P400, but it has much better snow traction. The selling point of the Toyo 800 is its 100,000 treadwear warranty.

The Pirellis have a "T" speed rating, while the Yokohama has only an "S". How much of a difference should this rating mean to my final decision?

COMMENTS anyone??

BenderI would get the Pirelli P400. The P3000, never heard of it. I've had the P400 and while I thought they could have rode a little smoother and quieter I was satisfied with their traction in wet, dry or snow.
hiwayman17The Pirelli P3000 Cinturato is relatively new I guess. It has a UTOG rating of 620AA. It also has a M&S rating. On Pirelli's website the P3000 is listed right below the P6000 and well above the P400, which is last on the list. I'm not sure if this is Pirelli's way of saying the P3000 is better than the P400... This is the link to the P300
