MDCBRI currently have performance tires on but need an all season for the fall winter and spring. Snow tires are out from what I have heard because the temperature has to be below zero or they wear very quickly. I simply need a good, winter biased radial. Which tires are recommended?? Also, what dimensions depend upon the rim? If I am correct it is the 195 and the R14 which cannot switch.

Thanks for your input.

donfromnaplesthe Bridgestone Blizzak MZ-02 received very high marks in ice and snow handling and traction. It costs $72 a piece at where you can read more about it. If you have a lot of cold weather with snow and ice where you live, then I would get these tires. The 195 tells roughly the width of the tire. You could go as high as 215 and will probably rub on a full turn, or 205 will have no rubbing. If you go up to a 205 then you need to go to a 55 ratio to maintain the same overall tire/wheel diameter. You could go with 205/60 R14 with very little difference than stock. Most people change tire sizes for handling(wider handles better) or acceleration(smaller ratio say a 50 series will give you more acceleration off the line, but will loose grip more easily in snow and ice). I would stick with the stock size because of the weather in your area. my e-mail is if you have any questions.
