I'm looking for the best high performance tires. The car is a 1989 Tbird SC. The tire size is 245/50R16. I'm looking at a price rang from $500 to $600 not including shipping, tax, installation, etc.. Right now I'm interest in the following tires:

Bridgestone Potenza RE730
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS
BGGoodrich Comp T/A ZR

I know there are many other brands and models. Those are the ones I like based on the price range. Please tell me what you think, and feel free to add any suggestion on brands and models not included. Thanks

BimmerThe RE730 is the best of the 3, the F1-GS second choice, the ZR not recommended. I and many others have had great results with the new RE730, while slightly not up to the level of the more expensive max perf choices, it's excellent in wet cornering/traction and great in the dry too, for an excellent price.

donfromnaplesi agree with the above recommendations out of the three you are looking at. The Bridgestones will also last a little while. I like the new Kumho Supra Ecsta 712 also.
zirgonThanks guys.

I am not surprised at the recommendation, but I am quite intrigued as to how a mediocre name like Bridgestone could design such a well rounded high performance tire at such a good price. To be honest, the Potenza RE730 is too good to be true for me. I've always been told and believed that Michelin, Goodyear, and Pirelli are among the best names behind high performace tires. The RE730 is not only perfect for my price rang, but it is below the price rang.
