Forever upgrading. I have a '91 GMC Sierra 1500 series 4X4. It came with 265/75r16 tires on factory 16X7 rims. I now have 285/75r16 tires on American Racing 16X8 rims. The one tire rubs a little on the fender well, even after a little trimming. I plan to upsize to 305/70r16 Goodyear Wrangler AT/S, on the same rims. Will they rub even more, or will I have to lift the truck?? Joseph The 265/75R16's you started with were 31.65" tall. The 285/75R16 you switched to are 32.83" tall and the 305/70R16 you are considering are 32.81" tall, no change in hieght though 20mm wider. Depending on where you rubbing occurs and the offset of your custom wheels you could encounter more clearance problems with the wider tire.
Did the +1.20" change in overall diameter from the OE to 285's effect the vehicle in any way? Gearing, low end acceleration?
