T O P I C     R E V I E W Bob I live in MN and just bought a new Subaru Legacy GT. It came with Bridgestone RE92's (205-55-16). I'm concerned that even with AWD these won't be good on snow and ice. Considering either Nokian, Vredestein Wintrac or Michelin. Anybody have an opinion? If the Nokian, which model? Marc Very good car for winter, traction is phenomenal but the problem with AWD vehicule is that it does'nt stop as fast as they accelerate. I would recommand Nokian tires, either Hakka 1 (T-Rated 190/km/h) or Hakka NRW (H-Rated 210/km/h) wich ever suited your driving style. bikor I just got a used Legacy LS with RE92s. I've read someplace that snow traction with those tires is nothing to be excited about. I got the Roo for winter driving, and I figured I'd give it the best tires I can. I agress with the previous post: the AWD will be great for getting going, but good tires are essential for stopping and control. I got Michelin Arctic Alpins and rims from www.tirerack.com (all told, about $475). They even compare the Mich's with Blizzaks on that site. Anyway, I got the Mich's so I could still handle well in wet and dry conditions. I am eager to try my Roo out in snow. Hands down a better tire.
