The viper HX is actually made by cooper, only the tire does not have the
Cooper name on the sidewall of the tire. It is definitely a good low-end
tire if your care has a requirement for an "h" rated tire, and you don't want
to spend the money or have the need for a higher quality tire. In a name
brand tire, Michelin, Goodyear, Bridgestone, you will receive greater quality
in rubber compound and a longer lasting tire, although the high performance tires
are not known for how long they last. The other good thing the Viper line
is that there is still a mileage rating on the tires in higher rating H, V, and
Z tires. In name brands you rarely see a mileage rating on a V rates or a Z rated
tire, but on the other hand the high speed dry traction
(how well it hug's at high speeds) may not be as tight as the tires in the name brands.
