Sounds like my experience with the same brands.
I wore out a set of Bridgestone Duelers on my Bronco about
5 years ago and they were noisy and wore out fast but the Duelers
did perform well.
I also wore out a set of Generals that didn't perform well. With
the Generals I found they were unstable at higher speeds (55+) and
were terrible in rain and high winds (I found myself wandering all
over the road) and had poor traction.
