Dunlop SP9000 feedback

What is the scoop on Dunlop SP9000? They are supposed to replace the 8000 but everyone seems to like the 8000 better. Is the SP9000 the true wet performance king or is it just hype? I am trying to choose between Bridgestone RE71, Goodyear F1 and Dunlops for a 1990 Corvette.
