THe only law on retreading for vehicles only comes on school buses of an 8.25 cross section or larger. California does have requirements for retreading. Retreads are quite successful when used on commerical aircraft, United States Postal Service, UPS, Military jets, etc. There are federal safety laws covering retreads. If you need any more information, go to the Tire Retreading Information Bureau's website at http://www.retreads.org, or International Tire & Retreaders Association at http://www.itra.com
