Burt...

Look seriously at one of the better "Tourning Tires". These tires
are designed to ride smoothly and quietly, yet maintain a lot of
good handling characteristics...check the Dunlop D-65T and Bridgestone
Turanza Touring series. I recently put a set of the Dunlops on my
Lincoln continental...Massive difference between that and the Michelin
XGTV4's I took off...much smoother, quieter...yet provides a decent
sense of handling. The Dunlop and the Bridgestone Touring tires are
very similar...I went with Dunlop because of good previous experiences.

Starting in '95 the Continental has a much stiffer ride than the older
"boat" floating type suspension..the new suspension also transmits much
more noise to the passenger compartment with the Michelins and were very
rough, yet oddly, they did not handle any better than the Dunlops. However,
Bridgestone makes a fine tire...look at it also.
Leonard...

P.S. Look up dunloptires and Bridgstone on the web...you'll note how close
technically the two tires are, in the Touring series.
