205/40R16 will fit on your civic with the proper wheels but are not the proper height. 205/45R16 will give you the same over all diameter as your original tires. This will keep your odometer and speedometer accurate. 205/40R16 also look odd on the car. They leave too much gap between the top of the tire and the fender well arch.
