Check with the manufactuer of your particular brand of tires. Some have specific guidelines for repairing "low-profile" or high performance rated tires. Some limit the number of repairs that can be made to performance tires and some void the performance (speed) rating of the tire if a repair is made, some reduce the rating one level if a repair is made - ie: a "V" rated tire would become an "H". Because of the inconsistancy in repair policy between brands some retailers (you mentioned NTB) play it safe and will not repair any performance tires. If the damage is in the tread area only not larger that approx. 1/4 '' in size it usualy can be repaired, but the effects of the reapir on; warranty, rating, etc., etc., etc vary by band.
