She wanted to take the Highlander on a 2K trek to see her sister.
I need to replace the tires first (in case she hits rain, or need to maneuver).

How can TOYOTA allow this?

I have similar issues with wear out on my Toyo Tranpath tires as well only got 21,000 miles! I did some simple research and found that the tires only have a 300 tread wear rating!! I looked at my other cars tires - an Acura RSX and it has the same rating for tread wear 300!! And that car has on performance tires!! The UTQG rating of the Toyo Tranpath P225/70R16 is 300 B B. Why are they using so soft tires on a SUV?!?! I called Toyo customer service to get some info on the tires. I was told that on original equipment tires they don't come with any type of mileage or tread wear warranty because the tire company makes the tire from info they are given by the car company. So they only have a warranty for workmanship and materials that's it. I was also told that other tire companies have the same warranty on original equipment tires. I was not to happy with this info and I did not think this was correct. So, I called a few other tire companies and asked about the tire warranty on original equipment tires. To make things short. Yes they all have a similar warranty as Toyo's!! I also found that 300 tread rating was a soft tread and may wear out fast. I think we should be told that by our dealer so we would have an idea how soft the tires are. Or some kind of option to change to a tire that can last longer.!!

After receiving tires that showed WEAR after 6K, after calling Toyo and being told they did NOT recommend the Tranpath for Highlander (and they wanted to upsell me), after replacing all four worn tires at 13K miles.

"Word of mouth" is the new marketing sensation (especially via the Internet)

I will continue to use my influence and tell the story of the BAD Toyota brand.

Job NOT well-done, Toyota.
Shame on you for putting my wife and kids at risk.
