I searched through the archives and didn't find my answer, so...

I have a '95 Subaru Legacy and thought it would be novel (and smart) to have 4 tires that match brand and all (currently have two of each front and rear)!

I want to keep the original size (185-70-14), want all-season with good traction, some performance and good tread life. Looking at Tirerack.com, epinions and elsewhere, what one site/person reviews as a great tire, the next HATES it! As soon as I "decide" on one tire, I read a few reviews that start scaring me away!

I've never had real tire problems before and usually bought the cheapest ones (trusting the salesman--cringe!)--always OK, but never great.

I'm hoping to be in the $40-55 range and think I have a lot of choices (Avid T4, H4, Toranza, Regatta 2 etc etc.) What can you recommend????

Thanks,
Chris.

i would go with the goodyear aquatred 3 for best overall tire that has what you described for $63 each. check out the survey results and read the customer reviews. i think most will be very favorable.
