I was hoping someone could help me out regarding 0 plus sizing for my 2001 Acura 3.2 TL. I will be needing to replace my OEM tires (205/60/16) within the next couple of months and was looking to go to as wide a tire as I can without making any modifications at all. When I purchased the car I upgraded the rims to the optional 16" chrome alloy wheels which I do not want to replace as they were pretty expensive. The stock rims were 6.5" in width. I think, but am not sure, the chrome wheels are the same width. Keeping the accuracy of the speedometer in mind the best replacement seems to be a 225/55/16 tire. This will put me within .2% of the original OEM tire. I hear anything within 1% is acceptable. My questions are (1) will a 225/55/16 width fit on my rims and (2) will I have any problem with rubbing. (The overall tire diameter is the same however the tire is about 1 inch wider). Tires.com says a 225/50/16 will work but the speedometer error jumps up to 3.2% which does not seem to be acceptable. Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim
