Just bought this car. Came with Akuret (??) tires. Getting a vibration at 60-65 mph. I was told the tires are the problem (the rotors were just turned to eliminate another vibration).Question: 1) What can anyone tell me about Akuret tires? 2) Any recommendations on replacement tires? Looking for higher ride quality, good weather characteristics and handling, but not a racing tire. 3) The car came with 225/60/16. Can I use a wider tire? Thanks in advance. IP: Logged |

Better tires include the following:Bridgestone RE 950 Michelin Pilot XGT H4 Yokohoma Avid V4 or the T4 Michelin MXV4 Plus BFGoodrich Touring T/A TR4 Goodyear Regatta 2 Michelin X-One Yokohoma Avid Touring Goodyear Aquatred 3 Now out of those, it is hard to beat the two Goodyear tires on price and they both do very well on customer surveys. The one that is very affordable and gets high customer marks is the Yokohoma Avid Touring. Look them up at tirerack.com. They have the best prices and will send your tires to any shop that you want to put your new tires on. You could go to a 235/55 or 50 series tire but it will not do as well in the rain or snow. Also, because it will be a lower profile tire, it will feel a bit firmer/sportier.
