o.k....I have a 1997 Olds. Achieva that needs to have the tires replaced. I live in AZ. So, it's realy dry except during monsoon season(rainy) and we occassionally drive to Flagstaff to see snow in the Winter, but only like 1-2 times. It is mostly driven around town with highway trips on the weekends. I want long treadwear, a high temp. grade (A), good traction and moderate-to-low noise level. I don't need anything fancy, but something safe for my kids. I need P195/65R15, but I don't know what brand. I'm looking at: Pirelli P3000, Yokohama YK420 (although I've heard good things here about the Yokohama AUS S4), BF Goodrich Precept Touring and Michelin Pilot XGT H4. The reason I'm looking at those is because that is what my Discount Tire carries. However,I'd be willing to go somewhere else to buy tires if there is a better brand/type out there. Or, will one of those tires work well? Thanks so much for your help! -Flint

I like the Yokohoma AVS db from what I have read. I also think the Michelin you mentioned as well as the Michelin Energy MXV4 will make you happy. You will notice that I have often read good things about the Bridgestone RE950 as well(seems to get very high marks all around). Check out the Goodyear Regatta 2 as well, nice tire. The faithful, and proven Michelin X-One is a very good long lasting quiet tire. The BFGoodrich Control T/A M65 gets very good marks all around as well especially in longevity. Goodyear Aquatred 3 is way above average in marks including lasting for a long time too. Now check out the test reviews and customer reviews on all these at tirerack.com Discount Tire is a very reputable tire store. I have purchased from them but ended up liking Tire Rack just a little more. More selection and a bit more customer service I think. Good luck. You have a tire size that offers a lot of choices.
