I have 4 good 19570R14 from another car and
would like to install them on my 1988 Volvo
740 GL wagon. It presently has 18570R14 on it. I realize this will change the speedometer by approx. 5% but would like to know if I may run into other problems such as tire clearances. Has anyone out there tried these on a 1988 volvo?

Smaller diameter will give you slightly increased gas mileage, slightly decreased handling, and may cause variations in your ABS braking system. It shouldn't vary any of these factors enough to cause problems especially clearance, since you are going to a smaller tire.
