Everywhere I turn, I seem to get conflicting information... These are good, those are bad... No, those are good, these are bad...I'M SO CONFUSED!!! Well, actually, I'm not. I know what I want. I'm just so indecisive as a result of not being able to find reliable information after extensively surfing the net, visiting the library (Consumer Reports), and calling/visiting tire dealers. What I want is a Touring tire - first priority, a smooth, comfortable ride (for the sake of my bad back), with handling coming in a very close second, if not an absolute tie (for my driving style). I choose touring for providing an all season tire (I live in SC), as well as an acceptable balance between traction/handling/comfort and longer life. Yet with these clear goals in mind, I just can't seem to find a tire that consistently gets a good recommendation! Even if you could just point me in the direction of a recent article reviewing tires (I need 185/70R14), that would be extremely helpful! Thank you so much! IP: Logged |

the size you listed is a one up size from stock but should be more comfortable at a 70 series than the 65 series that came with the car. of the size you were looking for, the climate you live in and the type of driving you do, the Goodyear Regatta 2, Michelin X-One(though not great in snow), Goodyear Aquatred 3, and Michelin Symmetry. Check these 4 out in whatever resources you have. I like to read the customer survey results and the test results listed at tirerack.com and they have great prices and service. hope this helped you out a little.IP: Logged |
