I just obtained a set of Yokohama AVS Intermediate tires for my car (different front and rear sizes). Are they directional? The tread design points up on one rear tire, and down on the other. Also there appears to be a red arrow on the 'outer wall' pointing forward on one, backward on the other. Am I dreaming?

I don;t think you're dreaming, but I think what you're seeing is the Asymmetric tread design that made this tire so popular!

Check this out and see if it helps! I couldn't find anything that suggests a unidirectional tire... http://www.yokohamatire.com/04b2e.html
