My wife was needing new tires for her 97 firebird (v6). They are 215 60 16's. I have been looking areound and have been recomended Michelin Pilot XGT h4s and also Potenza RE910s. Also another tire that has been recoomended is the Firestone Ft70c. I looked on tirerack .com at the customer surveys and the aquatred had the besr rating for wet traction. What we are looking for is something with real good wet traction but without loosing any of the performance the OE tires (Godyear Eagle GA's) had on it Thanks for any advice

Well the Goodyear GA tires are not hard to beat. The Aquatreads I have read about do well in wet and pretty good in dry weather too. If you like Goodyears, then look at the Goodyear HP. I like the Firestone SH 30s for long lasting sticky tires in both dry and wet and at a great price. I also like the Nitto NT 460 which I have now on my car for last 35000miles and wearing nicely. I do not like the 910s. The Michelins are nice but cost a lot more. The FT70 are not that great either. Another all around tire with less dry grip(say she drives less aggressively) is the Pirelli P400 Touring. My email is diacovone@aol.com if you want to ask me anything else.IP: Logged | |
