I just spent all morning going to tire dealers, and all afternoon at www.tirerack.com (great site), the early this evening at Autopedia.

Anyways, I am replacing General XP 2000 GT P215/70R15 which is a Performance All-Season M+S. These are for a Chevy Venture Van Ext 4DR.

Looking for a tire M+S tire, but that handles very well (sometimes forget it is a mini-van not my old rx-7). I am looking at following tires:

1. Yokohama Avid S/T
2. BF Goodrich Control T/A M65
3. Michelin X-One
4. Bridgestone Turanza T

The Avid's appear to be the best value.
The BF Goodrich Control T/A a better tire.

Would appreciate any other opinions.

Actually, the BFG Control T/A M80 is probably a better tire on a Venture. In a van application the M80 is a sturdier tire but that depends on the driving conditions. I have talked to a few people with these on and they have been very happy so far. This includes gravel roads. Mind you I have not seen M65's on one of these vans. The M65's seem more at home on lighter vehicles (to me anyway).

According to my Tire Dealer, the M80 are not available until March. I put on the M65 last week and drove through the snow this morning. A lot better than the Generals ever were.
