I'm looking to replace my worn Uniroyal Laredos on my 96 4x4. I like the look of the BF Goodrich T/A, but was wondering if anyone's had any experience with any of the other All Terrains, like the Good Year MTR, Yokohama Geolander M/T, or the Dunlop Radial Mud Rover.IP: Logged |

Are you talking a mud tire or an all terrain tire? The last three you asked about are mud tires. They are generally terrible on road surfaces as far as general handling and comfort. They howl like crazy (although the MT/R's look cool.) If you are any where near 75% off road driving, ok. If not, try all terrain tires. They're not perfect but far more drivable on a day to day basis. I saw a set of 285 BFG All Terrain T/A's on a Dodge the other week (look awesome). You won't go to far wrong with a set of Goodyear AT/S or Bridgestone Dueller AT's (another set of good lookers). Usually the AT tires are cheaper and will last longer.IP: Logged |

I had 265s on a 91 G.M. and also went to a 285 BFG all terrain but went to an 8 inch wide rim also. They look sweet. Maybe you could also consider looking at the 315 in BFG to really fill the wheel wells such as i am, if you dont mind knocking out your speedo etc. If not try a tad bigger tire in the 295, also in BFG.Your truck may or may not have the clearance to accomodate the 315s, I dont know. But as for the BFG all terrain tire i am more than happy with the performance.IP: Logged |

Hey guys, thanks for your input. I'm at least 75% road driving, so I think I'll check out the BFG's that you mentioned, probably staying in the 285 size so I don't have to modify the fit. IP: Logged |

I saw a review of the Bridgestone Dueler mud tires that said that they actually ran the road like AT's but were just great in the mud.IP: Logged |

I would recommend The Goodyear MT/R's or the Mickey Thompson Baja Claw or the Yokohama Geolander M/T or the BFG M/T.Steve
