I have a Ford Contour with 205/60/R15 summer tires. If I put on some winter rims what size should they be? I like the idea of 14" rims and tires as they are cheaper and the tire dealer says 195/65/14's are the correct size. When I look at the tire diameters, it seems 195/70/R14's are closer?

Can anyone help?

The P195/70R14 is closer in overall diameter to the P205/60R15 and it should have the same load capacity, so that would be my recommendation. However, the P195/65R14 was an OE size on some Contours. Before you buy, make sure the 14" wheels will fit - sometimes brake interference is encountered when going down in wheel diameter.
