I was wondering if anyone can recommend replacement tires for my '98 Nissan Maxima SE. The tire size on my car is a bit odd (215/55/16). The car came with Goodyear Eagle RS-A's. I have 65,000 miles on them (which Tire Rack said was amazing!). From what I've read, people didn't care for the Eagles or the Michelin MXV4's). A few of the options I have are: 1. Bridgestone Turanza Revo 2. Yokohama Avid V4 3. Continental Conti Touring Contact CH95 4. Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus 5. Goodyear Eagle RS-AI live in upstate NY, and we do get a fair amount of snow....but I don't want to buy snow tires. Would like to just purchase a set of all season tires. Any help anyone can give would be most welcome! Thanks. IP: Logged |

I wouldn't suggest any of the tires you listed mostly due to snow traction and some due to longevity. I would suggest taking a look at the Dunlop SP 5000. They make two sizes that will fit your car, offer very good wet, snow and dry traction, and are affordable. They should last awhile too compared to many others in the ultra high performance all season category. The sizes that would work for you are 205/55R16 or 215/60R16. Both are 2% or less from stock and will not cause any noticeable speedo, odometer or ABS errors. Hope this is helpful. My e-mail is diacovone@aol.com if you want to contact me. By the way, nice car. I have a girlfriend and my dad too own one.IP: Logged | |
