i have just purchaced a 2000 navigator (9/10), and it has continental a/w 275/60r17 tires. i have heard that this is a very poor tire, however i am faced with limited replacement choices. ones recommended by the dealer was the BFGoodrich long trail, or goodyear wrangler h/t. if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.IP: Logged |

Thank you Don, from Naples. Don't you have a hurricane there? I hope everything is OK. Good luck, Julie IP: Logged |

a lot of rain today, but thank God the storm really is heading north of Naples.tirerack.com has a whole list of light truck tires to check out and compare. i buy from them often due to knowledge, service, and price. Enjoy your Navigator. IP: Logged |

Thank you Don! I did wind up going with the BFGoodriches. The yokahama was a nice tire also, however the unconventional tread pattern was not conducive to the heavy towing i do occasionally.....The BFG's ride nice..smooth and quiet, and perform well in the wet. I do NOT go offroad so that is an area i would not be able to comment. Overall i'm a happy camper! I heard they just recalled the 16 inch continentals for tread separation problems on 1998 and 1999 navigators...what do they expect putting a $50 tire on a $50k vehicle? Keep dry and thank you. I just heard that Continental was recalling the Navigator tires. I would think you should be able to demand some replacements and even other brands just like Firestone is doing. Better hurry because it should only be a week or so for the recall to be completed based on the speed of the Firestone replacements.IP: Logged |
