Does anyone know how big of a tire I can put on my stock height 1998 chevy S10 2 wheel drive pickup? I have stock 15 inch wheels. I want a combo type tire (on-off) road. And I don't want rubbing on the front wheel wells. The stock size tire is a 205/75r15.

The 4 wheel drive S10's come with P235/75r15 tires. I have a 97 Sonoma 2WD. I just replaced my OEM Tiger Paw Awp's with Uniroyal Laredo AWT's. For an all terrain tire, they're actually pretty decent on the road. I chose these because of the varied driving conditions (snow, ice, mud, gravel and dirt and paved roads) that I encounter. Two wheel drive S trucks are very light on the back end, thus the tail tends to wander in other than ideal conditions. The ABS is constantly being engaged during brake applications (especially with the AWP's. I can get the ABS to engage in a parking lot when it is raining). The AWT's for the most part have remedied this. I chickened out on going with a bigger tire. Being a four cylinder, I think the almost two inch difference going to a P235/75r15 would give, might seriously lug the engine into poorer performance as well as change the good handling characteristics this truck posesses. A P215/75r15 or P225/70r15 would be an alright choice. As far as fit, no problem.
