I need a good set of Tires for my Explorer. I have a 1994 2WD 4Dr Explorer XLT. I have the Firestone AXT and want them off. I like the look, but not the feel anyway. They hydroplane bad. I was wondering if anyone has the Michelin LTX A/T. I live in SC where it is hot in the summer. I do not have a need for snow tires or mud tires. It is our family vehicle. I need good Highway tires, without a lot of noise, but still want that rugged off-road look. So Please someone let me Know.IP: Logged |

i have a '95 Explorer 2wd we got rid of those Firestones awhile back, i hated the ride they gave the Explorer. they did look right for the explorer and last a long time, but... anyway, off road looks and quiet smooth ride are opposites. I recommend though the Bridgestone Dueler D683 H/L(quiet ride, long treadlife, have raised white letters if you want them(i like that look on an explorer), good price, but I would not recommend driving them in sand/mud/offroad terrain) the best price for them is at tirerack.com that i have found. I do not think the tread design on the Michelin LTX A/T will give it a quiet, smooth ride. IP: Logged | |
