IT IS ALMOST TIME TO REPLACE MY FRONT TIRES AND THE TIRE SIZE I NEED IS 225/60ZR/16.I LIVE IN MIAMI SO I AM LOOKING FOR A SET OF TIRES WITH GOOD WET AND DRY TRACTION. I'VE BEEN LOOKING AT THE POTENZA RE730 THAT ARE $93 AT TIRE RACK, AND THEY SEEM PRETTY GOOD. CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND ANY OTHER TIRES TO ME? AND IS IT OK IF I PUT Z-RATED TIRES IN FRONT AND KEEP MY V-RATED TIRES IN THE BACK ON? I NEED GOOD ADVICE FAST!!!!!! IP: Logged
DONFROMNAPLES unregistered	posted August 06, 2000 07:58 PM hey, an '89 5.0 has a lot of torque going to those rear wheels. If anything, i would run z rated in the rear and v in the front if you go that way. besides the re 730 tires you listed, look at the new kumho supra ecsta 712 for less and with z rating and 280 treadwear. also, the goodyear f1 gs tires are excellent z rated tires that last as long as the first two i listed. hope this helps. tirerack.com is an excellent place to shop in case you never did business with them. oh, i thought of another good z rated tire with good treadwear, the dunlop sp 5000. i live in naples so i know what kind of weather you face and tires you could use best with our heat and rains this summer.
