FYI--Ignoring all the stock size dribble, I replaced the gaw'd awful stock 235/60R/16 Bridgestone Duelers that came with my vehicle with Dunlop Radial Rover Touring LT's 225/70/16's; superb tires. Purchased at Sears at a terrific price. Great fit; larger 225/70's mounted on after-market 8" mags fit cleanly into the stock w/wells w/o rubbing/contact. 800 miles w/out so much as squeak/rub. Unlike the harsh, rough running (absolutely scary on the wet) and impossible to balance, quick wearing performance of the Bridgestones, the Dunlop R/Rovers are quiet, responsive, dramatically more compliant too changes in road surface and have made the vehicle much more pleasant to drive. I'd recommend them w/o hesitation for this vehicle. Larger diameter than stock (28.1 vs 27.4), I've witnessed insignificant changes to gearing (auto) and effects on mileage (indistinguishable) with the 225's. Furthermore, I discovered just about any 215/70's to be a near match for those wishing to maintain stock tread (+.2 diameter difference) and slightly reduced footprint. Be aware of any rating differences. Still, I prefer the wider print of the very pleasant riding 225's w/my after-market rims. Happy motoring.IP: Logged | |
