I have had michelin roadhandler t+ tires on my 1993 geo prizm for 4 years, and finally they are due for replacement.I am looking at michelin's again, and have heard of the rainforce mx4.. is this tire good in snow/rain even though it is all season? I heard michelin mxv4s are bad. Also heard yokohama tires are good all season tires--good in all conditions? Any recommendations?

Late reply but..... Nokian NRW-H: H-rated, great in the rain, very good in snow. Approach "perfect tire" in my mind, although if you are a street racer, I would think 10/10s cornering would be less than pure performance tire. But then the performance tire would be useless in snow. I live in Philly area; moved here from Florida with Audi quattro (AWD) with Yoko A509. I loved these tires, good price, great in the rain. Unfortunately, they were horrendous in the first snow storm, even on an AWD car. So it seems that the ability to have good snow performance and good rain/dry road handling makes for a very short list of candidate tires. Beware though, Nokians are not cheap. Experience (not mine, yet) says they'll last 50K+ miles.IP: Logged | |
