I'm in the market for new tires. Should I get wider tires? Factory tires are 265/35ZR17, I'm thinkin' about up it to 275/35ZR17... there's no problem with fit. I'm just wondering if wider is better. Also, will it protect the rim if the tire is wider?

In general, wider is better for dry and down for wet. Finding a tire with a rim guard is probably a better bet than buying wider tires. Many brands have rim guards on shorter aspect ratio tires.
