I bought a Jaguar with wire rims. Some tell me that wire rims are horrible on tires, alignment, and balance. Whats the skinny on wire rims? Should I get rid of them?
Thanks

I've had wire wheels before and the only problem was being sure the wheels were trued. Same problems as with a bike wheel. The spokes need to be tuned to be sure wheel is perfectly round. You can check by jacking up one wheel at a time and taking a ruler or block of wood or anything that goes from the ground to the bottom of the wheel rim (not the tire). Slowly rotate the wheel to make sure wheel is perfectly round (both top to bottom and side to side). This was the biggest problem with them. Usually unless you hit a pothole they should be fine once aligned.
