I am having a very hard time finding some replacement winter tires (P225/70R14) for a 1996 Mazda B3000 4x2 Cab Plus (essentially the same as the Ford Ranger Supercab). Currently, I have all season Firestones with limited tread depth. Since I had just recently purchased this used truck with 61,000 km, these Firestones seem to be the original tires.I need replacement winter tires that are very good in wet and wet snow conditions. Also, they should be fair to good in icy conditions (occassion trips to a heavy snow region). Also, would having two A/S and two winter tires be okay for my situation? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks. Dave IP: Logged |

Also, would you recommend four A/T tires for the above vehicle and conditions encountered? Please state your reasons why. Thanks.Dave IP: Logged |

That is quite an odd size for a tire. I've seen that size listed but I've never personally seen a store have one. I'm not familiar with tire brands and such, but you may want to consider looking at the 215/75R14 size. It's the same height, just a centimeter thinner. That, too, is a rare size but there are old Ford LTDs like mine that still need tires. Tom

If you consider switching to a 60 series profile, I'm certain you have few options. BFG makes their Radial T/A in that size, Sumitomo also makes a tire called the HTR4 in this 225 60HR14 size. Good luck!IP: Logged |

I have the same tires on my '95 Ranger. I'm considering the Michelin XC LT4 in the same size. It is sold by Sears and NTB.IP: Logged | |
