I have been reading the posts from back a month to the present date and must say that there is a lot of information to swallow.
From what I have read the Guardex and Blizzack WS-15 are the best for my purposes. Could someone please tell me if I am on the right track or make suggestions for a tire that suits the following conditions;
deep snow with unfrequent removal, ice not really a concern,
The car is a 1995 Honda Prelude and is difficult to navigate with all seasons. As well I will be lowering the car next season. For this reason especially I need a tire that can dig more than anything else.
Can you e-mail me directly at peahee@sympatico.ca with any informaiton.

Thanks...

You should be forewarned that the multi-cell compound of the Blizzak only comprises slightly less than half of the tread depth. Apparently, it also wears away VERY quickly, and after that the tire behaves much like an all season radial.

I would say that Blizzak is the worst pick in your condition. That tires is good braking on ice, period. The most effective tires in snow and slush is Nokian Hakka 1, there is no compromised in tha scandinavian winter tire!

you are on the wrong track man.
Guardex and Blizzak are ice tires. If you want snow and slush tire then you go with Michelin Alpin or Hakka 1.
If you want an extremely aggressive snow tire that can handle almost anything in snow and slush then go with Nokian Hakka 1 - these tires will get you through whatever you have to get through. period.
